What to Expect
NOW UNDER NEW EVENT MANAGEMENT, PLEASE JOIN US SATURDAY, MAY 30, 2020 AT 8:00 A.M. FOR THE 4TH ANNUAL DIM SUM & THEN SOME: THE UPTOWN 5K!
This race offers runners a unique and immersive cultural experience in the “Asia on Argyle” corridor of Uptown, Chicago. After a brief Laotian blessing ceremony, traditional Chinese lion head dancers put on a performance followed by the sound of the gong, marking the official start of the race. At the end of the race, we serve all participants dim sum, bubble tea, and other local goodies. Runners are also treated to a block party as people enjoy their food while being entertained by CMAA's youth dance troupes as they perform traditional cultural dances for the crowd!
